Bidspirit auction | A 19th Century Teapot Set

A 19th Century Teapot Set - An English earthenware bulbous teapot and matching round stand featuring an Imari style palette. The teapot is constructed with a C-scroll handle and a scalloped gold border along the lower body. It is decorated with cobalt blue, iron red, and heavy gold gilding in a pattern of stylized prunus blossoms and geometric diamond cartouches. The matching trivet repeats the floral and geometric motif. The underside of the stand bears a circular green printed mark reading ARTHUR WOOD & SON (LONGPORT) LTD ENGLAND. The base of the teapot is marked with handwritten blue initials A. W. and the number 7. The lot is accompanied by a porcelain teacup and saucer decorated with shaded pink cabbage roses on a turquoise ground with gold filigree borders. The saucer shows a faint illegible gold mark on the underside.
