Victorian Jacobean Style Joint Stool - A carved oak joint stool featuring a hinged top and an integrated storage compartment. 37cm * 30cm * 60cm The joint stool is constructed from solid oak with a dark brown stain. The rectangular top features a thumb-molded edge and is secured by two metal butt hinges with flat-head screws, opening to reveal a finished interior well for storage. The piece is supported by four ring-turned and block legs joined by a low-profile perimeter stretcher, terminating in block feet. The frieze and upper leg blocks are decorated with deep relief carvings featuring a repeating guilloche motif of concentric circles and scrolling lines. The lower edge of the frieze is finished with a scalloped apron. No maker marks, labels, or signatures are visible on the interior or exterior surfaces.
