A Pair of Shards Ceramics Scottish Porcelain Brooches - Two handcrafted porcelain brooches produced by Shards Ceramics in Scotland, featuring unique marbled agate techniques. Item one is a relief-modeled seal finished in a textured 22 carat gold lustre. The marine mammal figure is set against an irregular, hand-colored porcelain base with blue, pink, and grey marbling. The reverse is fitted with a gold metal safety pin clasp adhered to the ceramic surface. Item two, titled Seascape II, is an abstract composition of pink, yellow, and blue marbled porcelain. It features a raised, white ”bubbly” textured ceramic overlay and accents of 22 carat gold lustre. This piece is also fitted with a gold metal safety pin clasp on the reverse. The items are accompanied by their original black presentation boxes. Each box lid features a gold printed logo reading ”SHARDS” twice above ”CERAMICS” and ”hand-crafted in SCOTLAND”. One brooch includes a signed descriptive card identifying the design as an original by Maralyn Reed-Wood, noting the porcelain is fired to 1300°C before being re-fired with a layer of platinum or 22 carat gold lustre.
