19th Century Chinese Reticulated Silver Dragon Scroll Case - A 19th-century Chinese scroll case or needle holder crafted from silver with elaborate reticulated decoration. The object features a hollow cylindrical body constructed with openwork and repoussé techniques, showing the reverse of the design on the interior. It stands on a plain stepped circular foot and is topped with a flat circular cap featuring a figural finial. The overall construction displays a hand-worked finish with visible seams and irregular internal surfaces. The exterior is densely decorated with a traditional dragon motif amidst stylized swirling clouds and flames. A three-dimensional dragon head with long wire whiskers protrudes from the side, while the body winds around the cylinder with finely hatched scales. The cap is surmounted by a cast finial depicting a seated guardian lion, or shishi. No hallmarks, maker's marks, or inscriptions are visible on the exterior or the base.
