19th Century Thomas Fattorini Sterling Silver Monogram Pendant Brooch - A late 19th-century sterling silver monogram brooch featuring an ornate openwork design. The piece is constructed from pierced and engraved silver in a heart-shaped silhouette. It features an interlocking script monogram with foliate flourishes and fine hatched engraving across the face. The design is versatile, fitted with a horizontal pin mechanism for wear as a brooch and a fixed loop bale at the top for use as a pendant. The reverse of the brooch bears a series of four struck hallmarks. To the left is a maker's mark consisting of the characters ”T.F” within a rectangular cartouche. To the right are three distinct office and standard marks: an anchor representing the Birmingham assay office, a lion passant denoting sterling silver purity, and a lowercase gothic letter ”u” corresponding to the year 1894.
