20th Century Elliott for Garrard and Co Burr Walnut Bracket Clock - A mid-20th century mechanical bracket clock featuring a burr walnut veneered case. The architectural case is constructed with a caddy top and a brass swing handle, standing on four small brass bun feet. The square brass dial is fitted with a silvered chapter ring showing Roman numeral hours and Arabic minute markers, accented by ornate cherub-head spandrels and a central engraved floral motif. The rear of the wooden case contains a circular cutout for access to the movement. The dial is inscribed Garrard & Co Ltd, 112 Regent Street London above the center, with An Elliott Clock and Made in England below. The back plate of the eight-day mechanical movement bears an oval logo with the script letters EG and is stamped Made in England. The underside of the case is impressed with the numbers 2823 and 4-64, along with the initials DH and JC. A brass presentation plaque on the rear base reads Pinchin, Johnson & Assoc. Ltd. F.A. Bignell for 40 years' service 1925-1965. Height: Approximately 10 inches.
