19th Century British Air Ministry Mk IV A Prismatic Binoculars and Telescope - A pair of British Air Ministry issue prismatic binoculars and a five-draw collapsible brass telescope. The binoculars are designated as Mk IV A and feature a black textured metal body with individual ocular focusing. The right ocular plate is engraved with the Air Ministry A M mark and broad arrow symbol, alongside a hexagonal cartouche reading BINO. PRISM. NO. 5 / MK IV A / x7. The serial number REGd No 69257 and O.S. 497-M.A. are also present. The bridge is stamped with the numbers 1449 and E 330. The set includes a brown leather carrying case stamped B. H. & G. LTD / 1944 / OS / 997 / BINOCULAR PRISMATIC NO 5 / CASE MK 1. A hand-written mark P L 559 is visible on the front. The brass telescope is a terrestrial model with five draws and a polished wood-grain barrel cover. The first draw bears a hand-engraved cursive inscription reading J. H. Langmore, Lindau. A removable brass lens cap and a white cloth bag are included.
