A 20th Century Satsuma Vase and Pair of Porcelain Plates - A collection of three decorative ceramic items comprising a Satsuma style vase and two porcelain cabinet plates. The porcelain cabinet plates feature a wide sage green border with a repeating gold pattern and scalloped, gilded rims. The central white medallions are decorated with transfer-printed wildlife scenes, one depicting Mallard ducks in flight and the other showing Canada geese above a body of water. No maker's marks or stamps are visible on the face of the plates. The ceramic vase is finished with a cream-colored crackle glaze and decorated with polychrome enamels and gold accents. The body displays two large cartouches: one featuring a figural landscape with bijin and children, and the other a dense floral composition. The surrounding ground is filled with millefleur patterns and geometric borders at the neck and foot. The underside shows a circular unglazed foot rim without a maker's mark. A small circular glass paperweight with a red and silver foil interior is also included in this lot.
