A Trio of 19th Century Domestic Household Items - A collection of three antique domestic items including a glass-surfaced washboard, a brass oil lamp, and a painted tin hat box. The washboard is constructed from a rectangular wooden frame housing a clear, horizontally ribbed glass scrubbing surface. The upper wooden panel features a black stamped mark reading ”BRITISH” in a small rectangular border above ”GLASSICK” in large serif capitals and ”WASH” in a lower scrolling cartouche. The brass oil lamp is formed from a circular font with a flared base, featuring a side-mounted filler hole and a central burner fitted with a clear glass chimney. The oval metal hat box is finished with an orange-brown exterior paint and a contrasting teal interior. The vessel features a hinged lid with a top-mounted wire bail handle and a front-mounted latch mechanism.
