19th Century Price Bristol Stoneware Four Gallon Shoulder Jug - A 19th-century stoneware shoulder jug finished in a traditional two-tone salt glaze. The vessel features a cylindrical body that tapers toward the base, a rounded shoulder, and a single strap handle with thumb-impressed terminals. The upper section, handle, and collared lip are finished in a honey-toned ochre glaze, while the lower body is coated in a cream-beige Bristol glaze. An incised number 4 is present on the shoulder, denoting a four-gallon capacity. To the right of this numeral is an impressed circular stamp containing the name PRICE arranged around a central Maltese-style cross, with the word BRISTOL visible at the bottom of the circle. Small iron spots and minor kiln-firing pits are scattered across the glazed surface.
