19th Century Multi-Sectioned Horn and Brass Walking Cane - An antique walking stick constructed from multiple sections of polished natural horn. The handle is formed into a crook-style grip with the end carved as a stylized animal head, possibly a serpent or bird, featuring small circular inlays for eyes. The shaft is composed of several stacked horn segments with varying colorations ranging from translucent cream to dark brown and black. The upper sections are decorated with hand-carved geometric trellis and diamond patterns. The pieces are joined by internal threading and accented with a broad brass collar below the handle. The cane terminates in a threaded brass ferrule. No maker marks, signatures, or hallmarks are visible on the horn, brass collar, or ferrule surfaces. The incidental item pictured for scale is a foil-wrapped tea cake and is not included. Length: Approximately 36 inches.
