A Set of Antique Lawn Bowls in a Vintage Travel Case - A set of six antique lawn bowls presented in a mid-20th-century travel case. The collection includes six black composition bowls, likely formed from dense synthetic material or lignum vitae. Each bowl is decorated with circular incised lines and a central inset medallion featuring a number or letter. One bowl is clearly stamped in a circular format with the text THOMAS TAYLOR GLASGOW and NO 3 BIAS. The set includes three bowls with yellow medallions numbered 1, 2, and 4 respectively; a fourth bowl also features a yellow medallion numbered 4. Two additional bowls feature white medallions, one with the number 3 and the other with a stylized letter M. The brown vulcanized fiber or paperboard suitcase is reinforced with metal corner protectors and features two flip-lock latches and a central leather handle. The exterior is decorated with two distinct adhesive travel stickers. A circular sticker on the lid depicts a bellhop and reads LUX HOTEL FLORIANOPOLIS SANTA CATARINA BRASIL. A rectangular sticker on the side shows a cityscape and is labeled HOTEL FAST JERUSALEM. The interior is lined with vintage newspaper, including a visible advertisement for Motherwell and articles featuring dates from the early to mid-20th century. Included in the lot is a rustic wooden side chair of ladder-back construction. The chair is assembled using visible tenon and peg joints and features three shaped horizontal slats on the back, topped by two turned finials. The seat is formed by two solid wooden planks. The wood is finished with a dark brown stain. No maker marks or labels are visible on the chair or the suitcase hardware.
