19th Century Mahogany Spider Leg Side Table - A 19th-century mahogany spider leg side table featuring a highly figured flame veneer top. The rectangular top is finished with rounded corners and a slight overhang, supported by a two-drawer frieze. The drawers are constructed with hand-cut dovetail joints and secondary woods that appear to be oak or pine. The table stands on four slender, dark-stained turned legs joined by an H-stretcher, featuring the distinctive rings and bulbous joints characteristic of the spider leg style. Each drawer front is decorated with a diamond-shaped bone or ivory escutcheon. While the escutcheons remain, the original pulls or handles are absent from the drawer fronts.
