The heptagonal cupro-nickel coin features the Aaron West celestial reverse design and the Jody Clark obverse portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse bears the inscriptions SIR ISAAC NEWTON and FIFTY PENCE, with the designer initials AW visible. The coin is mounted in a dark blue Change Checker presentation card which features a holographic security strip to the right of the coin mount.
