The collection includes two kings, two queens, four bishops depicted as robed figures, four knights as mounted soldiers, four rooks as castellated turrets, and sixteen pawns as standing soldiers. The pieces are manufactured from a cast white metal alloy. The square playing board is elevated on four cast-metal scrolled corner feet and features an etched border with scrollwork and individual squares decorated with etched foliate patterns.
