An Ercol Goldsmith High Back Windsor Armchair - An Ercol Goldsmith high-back armchair constructed with a steam-bent beech hoop back and a solid elm saddle seat. The back features a central decorative pierced splat with an urn and fleur-de-lys motif, flanked by eight turned spindles. The out-swept arms are supported by single turned spindles. The frame is finished in a dark Old Colonial style stain. It stands on four splayed and tapered legs joined by a central H-stretcher. The underside of the seat bears a circular maker stamp containing the numbers 5 and 0, with other faint characters present. Construction utilises traditional wedge-tenon joinery. A removable, fitted loose seat cushion upholstered in a cream-coloured damask fabric with a floral-scroll pattern is included.
