Bidspirit auction | A Chinese Blue and White

A Chinese Blue and White and Celadon Glazed Porcelain Garden Table - A Chinese porcelain garden table of two-piece construction, comprising a circular tabletop and a cylindrical pedestal base. The tabletop is decorated with a central underglaze blue medallion featuring a stylized floral blossom and scrolling vines. This central motif is encircled by a broad band of moulded floral and foliate patterns finished in a pale celadon-green glaze. The outer rim is decorated with a series of underglaze blue geometric and scrollwork borders. The cylindrical pedestal base is decorated with a continuous underglaze blue shan-shui landscape scene depicting craggy mountains, a pavilion on stilts over water, figures traversing a bridge, and small fishing boats. The composition is framed by stylized crashing wave borders at both the top and bottom of the pedestal. On the outer vertical edge of the tabletop, there is a four-character mark in underglaze blue reading Jingdezhen Zhi (景德鎮製), which translates to Made in Jingdezhen. The style of the mark and decoration indicates a mid-to-late 20th-century date of manufacture.
