A High-Relief Moulded Earthenware Figural Ashtray with Majolica Glazes - An earthenware ashtray designed as a deep-well vessel of cylindrical form with slightly tapering sides. The thick, flat rim features three equidistantly spaced semi-circular cigarette rests. The body is finished in a mottled, dark forest-green glaze. The exterior is decorated with three high-relief moulded figures and stylised foliage. The figures are hand-painted with white slip for the faces and bright yellow and red glazes for the headwear and hair. The interior is fully glazed in the same mottled green as the exterior. No characters, symbols, or maker's marks are visible on the rim, interior, or sides.
