A Collection of UK George VI and Elizabeth II Nickel-Brass Threepence Coins, 1941-1967 - A group of UK nickel-brass threepence coins, characterised by their dodecagonal shape and plain edges. The collection includes examples from the reigns of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. The George VI obverse features a bare head portrait facing left, while the Elizabeth II obverse depicts a laureate bust facing right. Reverse designs include the thrift plant (sea pink) and the crowned Tudor portcullis with chains. Visible dates in the lot include 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, 1947, 1952, 1961, and 1967. These dodecagonal nickel-brass threepences were first introduced in 1937 to replace the small silver threepence and remained in circulation until decimalisation in 1971.
