UK George VI 1950 Nine Coin Specimen Set in Royal Mint Case - A 1950 specimen coin set issued by the Royal Mint, comprising nine denominations. The collection includes a cupro-nickel Half Crown, Florin (Two Shillings), two Shillings (English and Scottish types), and Sixpence; a nickel-brass Threepence; and a bronze Penny, Halfpenny, and Farthing. All coins are dated 1950. The obverses feature the uncrowned effigy of King George VI facing left with the legend GEORGIVS VI D: G: BR: OMN: REX F: D:. Reverse types include the crowned royal coat of arms, Tudor rose and thistle, three lions and lion rampant crests, the GVIR royal cypher, thrift plant, Britannia, the Golden Hind, and a wren. The coins are housed in the original rectangular red textured presentation case. The lid is gold-stamped with a heraldic crest featuring a crowned shield flanked by a castle and rose above the text ROYAL MINT. The interior consists of a black velvet-lined base with black pull-ribbons and a white fabric lid liner.
