A Mid-20th Century Japanese Porcelain Teacup and Saucer, Bird Decoration - A mid-20th century Japanese porcelain teacup and saucer set, of circular form with a gradient orange and yellow lustre finish. The teacup features a curved handle and rims finished in a contrasting iridescent lavender-blue lustre. The exterior of the cup and the well of the saucer are decorated with hand-painted bird motifs within scalloped cartouches, depicting a bird with blue, yellow, and red-brown plumage perched on a branch with red berries, surrounded by red floral sprigs. The base of the teacup bears a red printed mark reading MADE IN JAPAN in two lines. No other maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items. Weight: Light.
