A 1961 British Aluminium Milk Churn and Lid, Craven Dairies - A 1961 British aluminium milk churn of cylindrical form, featuring a tapered shoulder, narrow neck, and flared rim. The vessel is fitted with two cast aluminium handles riveted to the shoulder and includes a matching mushroom-style lid. The body bears an impressed mark reading 3 DESCO 67 within a diamond-shaped lozenge. The top of the lid is heavily struck with multiple legends, including CRAVEN DAIRIES LEEDS and MANUFACTURED BY GRUNDY (TEDDINGTON) LTD. MIDDLESEX. The lid also features a British Standard Kitemark symbol surrounded by the legend APPROVED TO BRITISH STANDARD 3291, and a bottom line reading SERIAL No 12 / 1961.
