A Trio of Miniature Character Jugs, Lake District Inscriptions - This lot comprises three miniature glazed character jugs, each modelled in the form of a seated gentleman in 18th-century costume. The figures are depicted wearing tricorn hats and frock coats over knee breeches, holding a mug in one hand. Two figures are finished in red coats with green breeches, while the third is finished in a blue coat with yellow breeches. Each piece features a hand-painted black script inscription to the base identifying a location in the English Lake District. These inscriptions read WALNEY ISLAND, CONISTON, and WINDERMERE. The interiors are finished in a pale cream glaze. No maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
