The obverse face is decorated with a central shield containing the letters SI, flanked by laurel wreaths and positioned above a banner inscribed BULLION. The centre of the bar is struck with the weight 5 OZ, and the base is inscribed 999 FINE COPPER. The bar is of uniform rectangular form with a vertically brushed texture to the field.
