A Baroness Staffordshire Craftsmen Fine Bone China Four-Piece Tableware Set - This lot comprises a set of four fine bone china tableware items, including an oval serving platter with a scalloped edge, two circular plates, and a cylindrical mug with a scrolling handle. Each piece is decorated with a hand-painted fruit still life composition, featuring peaches, purple grapes, cherries, and blackberries set against a mottled yellow, green, and brown background. The pieces are finished with heavy gilt rims and a scrolling gilt handle to the mug. The large platter bears the signature R. MELLOR painted near the lower right edge. The underside of the platter features a green printed backstamp comprising a central crown symbol with the text BARONESS. HAND PAINTED CHINA. BY STAFFORDSHIRE CRAFTSMEN. A small white adhesive label with the handwritten characters 1153 is also present on the base of the platter. No further maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
