A Ceramic Serving Bowl Decorated in the Imari Palette - A ceramic bowl of circular, deep-sided form with a slightly tapered foot. The exterior surface is decorated in an Imari palette with alternating panels. Primary panels feature a deep cobalt blue ground with metallic-toned wave patterns and a lobed white medallion containing a stylised orange floral motif. Secondary panels have a white ground with iron-red scrolling foliage and blue leaves with metallic highlights. The interior is cream-glazed and features three hand-painted sprigs of orange fruit and blue leaves. The rim is finished with a wide decorative band in a metallic tone. A hand-painted mark in red reading 1629 above the letter P is present on the base, alongside a small horizontal blue dash. A smudged blue underglaze mark is located at the centre of the base; the characters within this mark are not legible. No other maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
