A Mid-20th Century English Garrard Clocks Ltd Oak Mantel Clock - A Mid-20th Century mantel clock of arched Napoleon hat form. The oak case is constructed with a stepped base and features geometric metal appliques to the front corners. A circular dial is housed behind a convex glass crystal within a metal bezel, featuring black Arabic numerals and three winding arbors. The triple-train mechanical movement has engine-turned plates and a platform escapement, designed to strike on eight horizontal gong rods. A hexagonal logo containing the name GARRARD is stamped on the rear movement plate, alongside the text MADE IN ENGLAND and the serial number 1484. The dial bears the words CHIME and SILENT at the selector lever, and WESTMINSTER and WHITTINGTON at the lower edge. An accompanying metal winding key is cast with the text GARRARD CLOCKS LTD.
