A July 1928 Empire Travel and Scholarship Scheme Medal of Honour - A metal medal of cross flory form, featuring a central circular medallion and suspended from a dark blue ribbed ribbon. The obverse medallion is bordered in blue enamel with the printed legend EMPIRE TRAVEL AND SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME, encircling a central motif depicting a seated figure and child looking toward a ship at sea. The ribbon is attached to a metal top bar with blue enamel bearing the inscription FOR ACHIEVEMENT. The reverse of the medal is engraved with the central text AWARDED TO C. GILLESPIE JULY 1928 and the outer legend MEDAL OF HONOUR. A single incised character, resembling a letter V or N, is present on the lower arm of the reverse. No maker's marks, metal fineness stamps, or hallmarks are visible on the item.
