A Mid-20th Century Oak Veneer Three-Drawer Chest - A mid-20th century chest of drawers, featuring three graduated drawers. The piece is designed with a rounded waterfall front top edge and a short shaped gallery to the rear. The drawer fronts and top surface are finished in a quartersawn oak veneer, displaying prominent medullary rays. The side panels and plinth base are finished in a straight-grained oak veneer. The drawers are of machine-cut construction, with plywood secondary timber used for the sides and bases. The chest is fitted with six cast metal drop handles with a patinated finish, each decorated with a foliate and scroll pattern. No maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the item.
