Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Stoneware Vessels

A Collection of Stoneware Vessels including a Creedy Vintage Cider Flagon - This lot comprises an assortment of four stoneware vessels, featuring varied glazes and forms. The central piece is a cylindrical cider flagon with a sloped shoulder and flared neck, constructed with a salt-glazed finish in two tones: a mustard-brown upper section and an off-white lower body. The front of this flagon bears a black transfer-printed illustration of a bearded figure in a hat smoking a pipe and raising a glass. The illustration is accompanied by the printed legend CREEDY VINTAGE CIDER above the figure and GREETINGS FROM DEVON below. The collection also includes a bulbous pouring jug with a pinched spout and loop handle, finished in a dark honey-brown and off-white glaze; a plain cylindrical bottle with a similar two-tone mustard-brown finish; and a wide-mouthed storage jar or crock with a mustard-brown rim. No maker's marks or signatures are visible on the bases or bodies of the pieces.
