A Mid-19th Century 925 Silver Fiddle Pattern Spoon, 1848 - A Victorian 925 silver spoon in the Fiddle pattern, featuring a broad terminal and a rounded bowl. The front of the handle is decorated with an engraved crest depicting a demi-lion rampant holding a cross. The reverse of the handle is struck with a vertical series of hallmark punches: the date letter N in a square shield with clipped corners, the duty mark of Queen Victoria's profile facing right, the lion passant for sterling fineness, and a leopard's head for the London assay office. A rectangular maker's mark contains the letters GAWS.
