Russia 1917 State Credit Note 1000 Rubles - A State Credit Note of the Russian Provisional Government, issued in 1917 with a face value of 1000 Rubles. The note is printed on a rectangular paper substrate featuring a complex green and beige guilloché pattern to the face and a multicoloured reverse. The obverse displays a large central inscription in Cyrillic capitals reading ГОСУДАРСТВЕННЫЙ КРЕДИТНЫЙ БИЛЕТЪ followed by ТЫСЯЧА РУБЛЕЙ. The date 1917 is printed at the lower centre. A serial number АЦ 102249 is printed twice in black ink. The face bears a printed signature of the Governor and a blue ink signature of the Cashier, L. Baryshev, transcribed as Л. БАРЫШЕВЪ following the printed Cyrillic text КАССИРЪ. The reverse depicts a central vignette of the Tauride Palace in Petrograd within an ornate frame. A penal legend is printed at the bottom of the obverse stating ПОДДЪЛКА КРЕДИТНЫХЪ БИЛЕТОВЪ ПРЕСЛЪДУЕТСЯ ЗАКОНОМЪ. This lot includes another example of the same issue with serial number ГА 072246 and a blue ink cashier signature.
