The obverse of each note displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II within an oval frame, alongside a seated Britannia motif within a circular frame to the left. The text is printed in reddish-brown ink and includes the promise I PROMISE TO PAY THE BEARER ON DEMAND THE SUM OF TEN SHILLINGS, the location LONDON, and the printed signature of the Chief Cashier J.
