Bidspirit auction | A Pair of WW1 Trench

A Pair of WW1 Trench Art Brass and Steel Darts - A pair of darts of heavy construction, likely repurposed from military ordnance or industrial materials during the First World War as trench art. Each item features a solid brass body, turned on a lathe to produce a tapering upper section and a series of six horizontal grip rings. The body terminates in a rounded shoulder. Fixed centrally into the rounded end is a tapering steel spike with a pointed tip. The brass bodies exhibit a deep aged patina with various surface abrasions and darker staining. The steel spikes show evidence of significant oxidation and surface pitting. No maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
