Bidspirit auction | A Collection of Four Terracotta

A Collection of Four Terracotta Chimney Pots, Including a Marked Pair by Farley & Co - This lot comprises a set of four terracotta chimney pots featuring two distinct pairs. The first pair is constructed from terracotta with a dark, weathered finish and tapered square bodies. These examples feature stepped bases and molded cornice tops with recessed friezes. One pot in this pair bears a legible impressed mark on the upper rim reading FARLEY & CO 1 S B. The second pair is made from salt-glazed terracotta with a characteristic reddish-brown finish and textured surface. One of these pots is decorated with a row of three raised hemispherical bosses below a flared cap, while the other features a simplified stepped cornice. All four pots show evidence of their original use as architectural components, including remnants of lime mortar at the bases. No other maker's marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the items.
