A 1937 George VI and Queen Elizabeth Coronation Medallion - A commemorative white metal medallion issued for the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The obverse features the conjoined profiles of the King and Queen facing left; the King is depicted in military uniform and the Queen in a tiara and necklace. This side bears the struck legend GEORGE VI & QUEEN ELIZABETH. The reverse depicts a central figure of Britannia standing between two classical columns, holding a trident and a laurel wreath over a crown. A silhouette of the London skyline, featuring St. Paul's Cathedral and the River Thames, is visible in the background. The reverse is struck with the inscription CROWNED A.D. 1937.
