UK 1992 European Currency Unit Four-Coin Collection - A collection of four commemorative regional tokens, each struck in a gold-coloured metal and denominated as ONE ECU. The obverses share a central motif of two figures holding a laurel wreath over a map of Europe, set against a sunburst background. This design is encircled by the legend EUROPE EUROPA with a central flower symbol and four small stars. Each coin is individualized by a regional inscription at the base: ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES, and N. IRELAND. The reverses feature central motifs specific to each region: a depiction of St George and the Dragon for England; a unicorn holding a shield with a lion rampant for Scotland; a bust of Edward the Black Prince for Wales; and a female figure playing a harp for Northern Ireland. The reverses are struck with the denomination ONE ECU at the top and the date 1992 at the bottom. The Wales reverse includes the motto ICH DIEN. No hallmarks or metal fineness marks are visible on the pieces.
