A Pair of UK 1999 and 2000 Silver Five Pound Coins, Cased Set - A pair of UK five pound coins struck to a proof finish, presented in a green velvet-lined display case with an accompanying certificate and information booklet. The obverse of each coin features the fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley, with the legend ELIZABETH · II · D · G REG · F · D · 1999. The reverse, designed by Jeffery Matthews, features a stylised clock face with hands set at midnight over a map of the British Isles, with the dates 1999 and 2000 and the denomination FIVE POUNDS. The British Isles map is highlighted in 22ct gold spray. The edge of each coin is inscribed with the incuse legend ANNO DOMINI and PAST IS PROLOGUE. The coins are struck in .999 fine silver. The presentation includes a Certificate of Authenticity bearing the printed signature of R DE L HOLMES, DEPUTY MASTER (CHIEF EXECUTIVE) of the ROYAL MINT. Diameter: 38.61 mm Weight: 28.28g.
