A Trio of Mid-20th Century French Cuivre Veritable Wall Plates - A trio of decorative wall plates constructed from copper, featuring high-relief repoussé central motifs. The first plate depicts a bearded fisherman in a sou'wester hat smoking a pipe, set against a nautical scene with a lighthouse and sailing vessels. The second plate features a view of the Pont Saint-Bénézet and the city skyline, with the legend AVIGNON embossed at the base of the scene. The third plate depicts a woman in traditional Provençal dress, including a lace coiffe and fringed shawl, set against a coastal background. Each plate is finished with a hammered rim decorated with embossed floral and dash motifs. The central scenes have a dark, patinated background to provide contrast against the polished highlights. The reverse of one plate bears a circular adhesive label featuring a map of France in the colours of the French Tricolour, inscribed with the monogram SL and the text CUIVRE VERITABLE and MADE IN FRANCE.
