SAW USS Maine 45 Star Burial Flag, Funeral Photos Lot
Spanish American War SAW USS Maine 45 Star Burial Flag and 3 Photos Lot. The flag is a 45 star with sewn on stars from the Spanish American War era. The 3 photos are also from the same time. The story we were given when we received these items were that the flag and photos were together. The photos were inside the flag so they will stay together as a group. After looking at the 3 photos and the time period it was made, it shows the burial of sailors- possibly from the USS Maine. These photos are similar to USS Maine funeral photos found on the internet. The approximate size of the flag is 36 x 88 inches. The condition is well used. There are holes throughout the flag and on the stars. Some frayed parts on the stripes. The 3 photos are faded from age. Good details can still be seen in the photos. Look carefully at the photos to gain a better idea of the description and what you are bidding on.
