WWII Enlisted Named Legion of Merit CBI Medal Group
WWII medal and photograph group to Corporal Robert Young, a Legion of Merit recipient. This medal is usually reserved for Lt. Colonels and above, so enlisted awards are fairly scarce. He was a truck driver on the Ledo Road of the China Burma India (CBI) theater. The lot includes his original hand engraved slot brooch Legion of Merit, all of his other campaign medals, theater made silver CBI pins, US made CBI and lego road pins, theater made CBI and Ledo Road patches, a number of period photographs, a cloth 48 star US flag, period copy of his service record, and more.
