Maximum Effort 15th Air Force B-24s Italy Limited Edition Dietz Print
Maximum Effort is a signed print by artist James Dietz and a limited edition numbered 62/1000. Not only is the print signed by the artist, but also by Lt. Col HA Wilkes who was the historical advisor and attached to the 449th Bomb Group during WWII. This work illustrates what it was like to be on a bomber field in 1944, depicting the 15th Air Force in Italy after a tough mission. Weary flight crews drag their flight bags; officers are quickly debriefed while the flight engineer discusses damage to the number three engine with the ground crew. The aircraft pictured, Paper Doll and Reluctant Liz, were both later lost in raids over Romania. Approximate size is 21.75 x x 28.25 inches. Nice overall condition with a couple minor creases most likely from being rolled during storage.
Condition: See description.
