ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: This yellow gold ring features a chartreuse-colored garnet, called Tsavorite garnet! The trilliant-cut Tsavorite garnet is prong-set and raised above a diamond floating halo and structured diamond shoulders. As a design surprise, the front and back facing bridges have bezel-set diamonds that resemble the face of an owl! The Tsavorite garnet is supported by a trellised under gallery and an approximate 1.7mm shank, bearing the hallmark, diamond weight, and gold content.
- Tsavorite garnets are four times more rare than emeralds, but cost less because tsavorites are not widely used and promoted in mass produced jewelry. However, Tiffany & Co. did promote the Tsavorite in the early 1970's. Today's artisans are using tsavorite in more of their creations, for their durability, but mostly because of their stunning, vivid color.
