JEAN JACQUES HENNER (1829-1905) PORTRAIT OF REDHEAD
J.J. Henner Signed upper left in red. This compelling portrait of an auburn beauty is painted in the Symbolist style, a late 19th century movement particularly in France, Russia, and Belgium. Provenance: Consignor’s great-grandfather, Edwin Krickbaum Bready (1870-1934) bought and sold fine art and kept a collection of his favorites which included this Henner painting. It has been in the family since the 1920s. In original “black box” framing.
