Large Louis XVI Style Carved and Painted Wall Mirror with Torch and Quiver Crest - This large wall mirror is designed in the Louis XVI Neoclassical style, featuring a rectangular frame constructed of wood with applied gesso ornamentation. The frame is finished in a multi-layered, distressed paint of pale gray and brown tones. The inner perimeter of the frame is detailed with a carved beaded or pearl molding. A prominent crest sits atop the frame, centered by a circular medallion containing a high-relief floral bouquet. Flanking the medallion are a carved torch and a quiver of arrows, symbols traditionally associated with Love and Hymen, which are joined by foliate swags and ribbon motifs.
