Royal Worcester Hand Painted Fruit Bone China Cabinet Plate by John Reed with Gilt Presentation Box - Fine bone china cabinet plate manufactured by Royal Worcester. The center features a polychrome hand-painted fruit study by artist John Reed, whose signature J. REED appears in the lower right of the panel. The composition depicts two apples and a cluster of blackberries against a soft-focus mossy ground. The plate has a wide burgundy border decorated with elaborate, heavy acid-etched gold gilding in a pattern of Rococo scrolls, foliate motifs, and diaper-work. The piece is finished with a scalloped, shaped rim and a thick gold-gilt edge. The reverse bears a gold-printed Royal Worcester backstamp with the number 51 inside the center circle, signifying a mid-20th century production date. Additional hand-painted gold characters A C R are located near the foot rim. The plate is accompanied by its original green satin-lined presentation box, which features a gilt-stamped Royal Warrant for H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. Condition report: Condition overall very good with no damages or repairs. Both the gilding and the centrally painted fruit panel are in a good order, with no signs of crazing, scuffs, or wear.
