Victorian William Bishop Ford Hand Painted Enamel Bloodhound Gold Stick Pin Dated 1868 - A Victorian gold stick pin featuring a circular hand painted enamel miniature by the renowned artist William Bishop Ford (British, 1832 to 1922). The central motif depicts the head of a Bloodhound in profile, rendered with exceptional detail and realistic color against a dark ground. The reverse of the enamel plaque is signed in black script W. B. Ford and dated 1868. The plaque is secured in a gold circular mount with a split yoke attachment to a long pin stem. The stem features a decorative spiral twist section designed to provide grip within fabric and terminates in a removable safety clutch. The item is presented in a period correct fitted case with a textured brown leatherette exterior, a white silk lid lining, and a black velvet base. William Bishop Ford was a celebrated pupil of William Essex and frequently exhibited animal miniatures at the Royal Academy.
