Sysueva, Fedoskino Russian Lacquer Box, 1996 - A Russian lacquer box of rectangular form, manufactured from papier-mâché and decorated with a hand-painted landscape miniature on the lid. The scene depicts an atmospheric riverbank at dusk with a leaning tree, birds in flight, and a cluster of mushrooms in the foreground, rendered in a muted palette of ochres and browns. The lid is signed in gold Cyrillic script along the bottom right edge: Федоскино (Fedoskino), Сысуева (Sysueva), and 96г. (1996). The box is finished with a polished black exterior and a traditional red lacquer interior. Length: 10.2 cm.
