A Trio of Papier-Mâché and Porcelain Trinket Boxes - A collection of three decorative trinket boxes of varying materials. The first is an oval papier-mâché box featuring a hand-painted chinar leaf pattern in autumnal shades of green, orange, and yellow with fine gilt detailing on a black ground. The base bears a printed label stating HANDICRAFT / ARTISTIC PAPIER MACHIE / MADE IN KASHMIR INDIA / For OXFAM / No. 22353. The second is a rectangular porcelain box with hinged gilt-metal mounts and a floral thumbpiece. The lid is hand-painted with floral sprays and a French inscription that reads La fumée s'envole - l'amitié reste -. The underside of the base features an underglaze blue mark consisting of interlaced Ls centred with the letter B. The third is a small octagonal box, likely lacquered papier-mâché, hand-painted with gazelles and trees in a landscape against a dark blue ground.
