A Nineteenth Century French Ebonised Mantel Clock by LeRoy à Paris - A French mechanical mantel clock of architectural form, featuring an ebonised wood case with gilt-line inlaid decoration. The piece is surmounted by a decorative cast brass swing handle. The circular white enamel dial is centrally signed Leroy à Paris and features Roman numeral hour markers with an outer minute track. The dial is set with two winding apertures. The mechanical eight-day spring-driven movement is fitted with a platform escapement and balance wheel, featuring a striking mechanism on a bell. The movement backplate is hand-stamped Leroy à Paris and numbered 6 29. The case retains its original wooden rear door with a turned knob. Estimated height: 15cm - 20cm.
